EDGESEAL PU 1K is a blue tinted, penetrative, solvent borne one part polyurethane sealer specifically developed for the concrete industry to seal cut and exposed edges on all types of formwork ply or to treat any holes cut for tie rods etc. It is principally used to extend the life of formwork panels by stopping water absorption and longer term de-lamination along any cut edges. It is capable of being applied to damp timber or timber with high moisture levels, unlike solvent borne systems.
Factory produced boards are generally edge sealed in the production cycle and The Council of Forest Industries (COFI) and Finnish Plywood International, both recommend proper sealing of cut edges in plywood to extend form life and minimise any swelling and edge distortion.
